The approach

Retractable on rails

The roof runs on aluminium rails and folds away to one side. Motorised with a remote, with an optional rain sensor.

Fixed aluminium roof

Insulated sandwich panel, which covers and keeps the heat out at the same time. It's what goes on when there'll be a seating area or an outdoor kitchen underneath.

Drainage and lighting

A perimeter gutter with the downpipe properly sorted, and an LED strip built into the structure if you want to use the space after dark.

We won't quote a price per metre without seeing the job, because we'd be making it up. We visit, we measure and we give you a fixed, itemised quote. It depends on:

Made in the workshop

Cut and assembled in El Verger, to the measurements taken at your property. We let you know as soon as it's ready to fit.

Fitting and adjustment

We strip out and remove the old unit, fit the new one plumb and sealed, and adjust the ironmongery: it opens, it closes, it doesn't catch and it doesn't let draughts through.

What people ask us

How is this different from a bioclimatic pergola?

A louvred pergola controls shade and airflow, and when closed it drains the water away. A retractable roof covers completely when closed and leaves the space entirely open when it folds back. If what you want is to control the light, go for the pergola; if it's to cover and uncover, go for the retractable roof.

Does it hold up to heavy rain?

Closed, yes, provided the perimeter gutter is properly sized and the downpipe is sorted. That's worked out at the visit: most problems with a roof come from the drainage, not the roof.

Do I need a licence?

It depends on the town hall and on whether it's fixed or retractable. It usually needs at least a declaración responsable. We give you the technical description so you can make the application.

Can it be closed in at the sides?

Yes — with glass curtains, fixed panels or a vertical awning, just as with the pergola. It's worth allowing for it in the structure from the start.
